Description
The Hayes Dominion A4 presents a high-end hydraulic disc brake caliper that's been finely tuned for optimal performance right out of the factory. The master cylinder of this system is calibrated to minimize the dead stroke—the gap before the brake pads engage—and to provide a sharp, immediate bite point for precise control.
In the caliper itself, the Dominion A4 incorporates a four-piston design, maximizing braking force and ensuring even pad wear. The structural integrity of the caliper is bolstered by a cold-forging process, which enhances its strength without adding unnecessary weight. Additionally, the KingPin pad retention system further reinforces the caliper's rigidity and resistance to flex under load, ensuring consistent braking feel.
One of the standout features is the Two-Stroke dual port bleeding system, inspired by motorsport technology. This, along with the use of high-grade DOT 5.1 brake fluid and a Kevlar-reinforced hose, ensures that the braking performance remains consistent across varying temperatures and conditions, while also simplifying the bleeding process for easier maintenance.
The Dominion A4 is also equipped with Hayes' proprietary QuickBite² system, designed to rapidly and uniformly bed in the brake pads, ensuring quick and dependable braking performance. When paired with Hayes' D-Series rotor, the system effectively manages heat, which translates to sustained performance and reduced brake noise.
