Description:

The TRP Spyre is a mechanical disc brake caliper that stands out for its two-piston movement, ensuring balanced and even rotor contact for optimal braking power and modulation. This post-mount variant fits the traditional mounting system, attaching directly to the frame or fork's mounting posts, which is a common standard for road, gravel, and cyclocross bikes.

The caliper's design incorporates ramped ball bearings, which enable smooth pad engagement and provide the rider with precise control over braking force. The pads used in this system are made from a composite that blends resin with metal fibers, combining the best attributes of both materials. This pad composition is versatile enough to be used with both specific resin-only rotors and standard rotors, widening compatibility options.

This TRP Spyre caliper is intended for use across various cycling disciplines, including road riding, gravel adventuring, and cyclocross racing. It's notable that the necessary mounting hardware, rotors, and adapters are not included with the caliper, allowing cyclists to choose components that best fit their bike and riding style.

Weighing in at 146 grams, the TRP Spyre post-mount caliper maintains a competitive weight without sacrificing performance. It is a top choice for cyclists who favor the simplicity and adjustability of mechanical brakes but still require the reliable stopping power typically associated with hydraulic systems.
