Description:

The Shimano Ultegra BR-R8170 rear disc brake caliper is a sophisticated component designed for road cycling, offering advanced braking capabilities with a focus on modulation and a responsive initial bite. This caliper is part of Shimano's renowned Ultegra series, which is celebrated for its balance of performance, durability, and value.

Featuring finned resin brake pads, the BR-R8170 caliper benefits from enhanced heat dissipation, which helps to maintain consistent braking performance during prolonged use and reduces the occurrence of brake fade. The finned design contributes to a quieter braking system, and wider pad clearance further diminishes brake noise and the risk of rotor rub.

This caliper adopts a flat mount standard, which is favored for its streamlined and integrated appearance on modern road bike frames and forks. The hydraulic fluid system operates on Shimano's mineral oil, selected for its stable and reliable performance in various riding conditions.

Shimano has designed the BR-R8170 with user-friendly maintenance in mind, incorporating a bleeding process that is straightforward, helping to ensure that regular upkeep is as simple and efficient as possible.
